Fund raising in India is its infancy. There is a great potential and we have to reach it and more in as short a time as possible. This can only be done in a most professional way. In a way that is accountable, transparent, credible and ethical. While all training is directed towards making fundraisers professional, a central body to promote all aspects of Fundraising is important to look into issues in a planned and co-ordinated manner, as a responsible body. There is a need to interact with all stakeholders. And a need to safeguard the interests of all Fundraisers. This is a step towards making NGOs independent and sustainable.
